Essential Oils for Anxiety and Depression

Essential oils are a way of taking a natural approach to treating nervous system conditions such as depression and anxiety. Particular therapeutic grade essential oils are highly beneficial for the nervous system, as well as being safe to use on a regular basis, which is why at Salts & Co we include them in many of our products. There is a significant connection between our sense of smell, and the brain. We are all aware of how powerful smells can be in bringing back memories, and smell can transport us back to a place we might never have recalled otherwise. This strong connection between the brain and scents is just one aspect that makes aromatherapy such a powerful healing tool.

At Salts & Co, we use high quality natural essential oils in our Bath Salts, and Pillow Sprays, each blend perfect for relaxing after a hard day, and unwinding for the night ahead. We include specific blends of essential oils in our products, each targeting areas of relaxation and wellbeing.

Essential oils that are beneficial to anxiety and depression, include;

Lavender
Lavender essential oil is one of the most popular oils, and it is extremely versatile. It is an excellent relaxing and calming oil, and so often used in blends for anxiety and depression. We include Lavender essential oil in our ‘Relax‘ Epsom bath salts, and it is also an oil that is used in our ‘Calm Sleep‘ and ‘Relax Sleep‘ pillow sprays.

Bergamot
Bergamot is a fruit, and the essential oil extracted from it’s skin is considered excellent for anxiety, depression and the improvement of mood. You can experience the scent and the effects of Bergamot essential oil in our ‘Spiritual‘ blend bath soak, where is it paired with uplifting Rosemary.

Ylang Ylang
Ylang Ylang is a floral essential oil, that is both soothing and uplifting. Also considered a sensual essential oil, it is included in our ‘Love‘ Epsom bath salts, blended with Jasmine and Rose. Ylang Ylang and Rose are also the scents to our ‘Dream Sleep‘ pillow mist.

Valerian
Valerian is a very powerful natural sedative, and so an ideal essential oil for anxiety. We have combined Valerian essential oil with Chamomile and Lavender to create the ultimate relaxing natural pillow mist – Calm Sleep.

Chamomile
Chamomile is an incredibly gentle herb that is widely used in the natural treatment of anxiety and depression, and this is why we use it in our ‘Calm‘ blend of Epsom bath salts. Delicate in fragrance, it is perfect to blend with complimenting calming oils such as Lavender and Valerian.

Other essential oils that aid anxiety and depression, and that are included in our Salts & Co relaxing bath salts and pillow mists include; Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Peppermint, Rose, and Geranium.
